PUBLIC MARKS from rike_ with tag work

I've searched the web quite a bit for a good log analysis tool for Subversion and didn't find any good project. Since we use Subversion where I work I wanted to see who made most commits, who changed how many lines and get some nice looking graphs that would show progress in the project. Then I realised that svn --xml -v log returns XML, which is really easy to parse.

Based on that experience, I’ve put together my checklist of things that designers should consider before handing their work over to a developer to build.

Georges Bataille (1897-1962) was by profession a librarian at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. In his off hours, however, he was also a fringe Surrealist, vanguard intellectual, and writer of a wide-ranging body of work that includes philosophy, economics, poetry, and pornography. In all of these writings, Bataille was concerned to articulate a "science of the heterogeneous," a philosophy of everything repudiated by civil society: shit, blood, sacrifice, deviance, violence. The wellsprings of this philosophy apparently lay in personal experience — in particular his childhood with a suicidal mother and a blind, syphilitic father — and yet his ideas resonated deeply with other mid-century philosophy (for example, shit in Bataille's system was analogous to the "other" in Phenomenology and Existentialism) and helped to pave the way to contemporary "theory."

The Mac OS X 10.4.7 update for Tiger seems to have introduced a font-handling bug that affects the use of OpenType fonts in certain applications such as QuarkXPress 6.x, Macromedia FreeHand, and possibly others. The bug can cause those applications to crash when they try to work with OpenType fonts, and can also lead to a general instability in other applications as well. Many users have found that using Font Finagler to clean the font cache files seems to alleviate the crashing problems at least temporarily.
