Microsoft switches from the Web Structured, Schema’d & Searchable (Web3S) protocol to Atom Publishing Protocol (AtomPub) for services offered by Microsoft's Live Platform on the Web.

I’m starting a (hopefully short) series of blog posts documenting the specifics of how the upcoming AtomPub-enabled release of Windows Live Writer will behave, and what AtomPub-enabled blog* servers can do to ensure the best interop with us.

The Google FeedServer is an open-source Atom Publishing provider based on the Abdera Framework. Google FeedServer has chosen to implement simple backend data adapters that allow the developer to quickly deploy a feed for an existing data source such as a database. The FeedSever makes it easy to create these adapters.

The idea of atompubbase is that it is a rather thin layer over straight HTTP, but supplying the convenience functions that are really needed and plenty of hooks points for extension.

SimplePie is a very fast and easy-to-use class, written in PHP, that puts the ‘simple’ back into ‘really simple syndication’. Flexible enough to suit beginners and veterans alike, SimplePie is focused on speed, ease of use, compatibility and standards compliance.

This is a stripped-down implementation of the server side of the Atom Publishing Protocol as an Apache module, implemented in C

It is a validating client, which means that while performing APP operations it will validate the servers operations and the format of the documents transferred.
