Le gros inconvénient des applications proposées par Twitter que ce soit depuis un navigateur Web en allant sur leur site ou via l’application mobile, est qu’il faut endurer pas mal de nuisances imposées par l’interface utilisateur et la politique commerciale de Twitter. Solution plus radicale, mais qui n’a pas reçu le blanc-seing de Twitter est de passer par une application Web tierce appelée Nitter. Avec Nitter, on accède à l’ensemble des tweets, mais il n’est pas possible depuis cette interface très sobre d’en publier. Il s’agit d’une application en lecture seule. En arrivant sur la page d’accueil de Nitter, on est invité à rechercher un nom d’utilisateur présent sur Twitter. Une fois que c’est fait, on accède à l’ensemble des publications et informations de cette personne : profil, nombre de followers, de following…, tweets publiés, médias (photos et vidéos) ainsi qu’un moteur de recherche pour trouver des tweets particuliers de cette personne. Il ne manque que les favoris pour que cela soit vraiment très intéressant.

SSOFast qu'est ce que cela veut dire ? SSO est l'abréviation anglaise de Single Sign On, en français "Authentification unique", ce qui signifie qu'une application donne accès a d'autres applications sans ressaisir le moindre mot de passe. En l'occurrence, à partir de votre compte SSOFast, vous pourrez accéder à tous vos sites favoris sans avoir à ressaisir un seul mot de passe. Quel avantage par rapport aux favoris d'Internet Explorer ? Si quelqu'un a accès à votre ordinateur alors il a accès a tout vos sites mêmes a ceux qui vous pensez avoir protégés par des identifiants. Comme pour les favoris, vos identifiants sont stockés sur votre ordinateur, impossible d'y avoir accès en dehors de chez vous. Saisir vos identifiants sur un ordinateur qui n'est pas le votre, permettra a toute personne ayant accès a cet ordinateur d'accéder a vos données.

PSE (Personnal Search Engine) - Si vous utilisez encore le gestionnaire de bookmarks (marques-page) de votre navigateur, vous éprouvez peut être des difficultés à vous y retrouver tellement il y a de liens sauvegardés. Heureusement, il existe un petit bookmarklet qui s'ajoute dans la barre des bookmarks de votre navigateur et qui permet de gérer en local et de manière super simple vos bookmarks. PSE (Personnal Search Engine) est une véritable petite application qui permet avant tout d'importer ses bookmarks existant pour les indexer dans la recherche.

Interestingness is a media (images, videos, etc) ranking algorithm to provide as an additional metric for search results. The algorithm is based upon an algorithm created by the Flickr team, and is further enhanced by metadata knowledge resulted from the Del.icio.us development. The algorithm was first unveiled publicly on Flickr on 2005-08-01.1 SML.SML: Interestingness = f(views, faves, comments, tags, time, user, network relationships); The ranking is based on one or more of the following factors: * the quantity of user-entered metadata2 (i.e. tags) * the number of users who have assigned metadata3 * the number of favorites assigned to the photo4 * relationship between the person who uploaded the photo and the people who are commenting5 * access patterns related to the media object6 (i.e. where the clickthroughs are coming from; who comments on it and when)7 * a lapse of time related to the media object8 (i.e. velocity of metadata acquisition)
