British Prime Minister Tony Blair arrived in Lebanon amid angry protests against his stance on Israel’s month-long offensive in the war-ravaged country, AFP reported. Correspondents say Blair held talks with top Lebanese officials, mainly discussing the disarmament of the resistance group Hezbollah. On Sunday, Lebanon’s most senior Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, called on the government to declare the British Prime Minister “persona non grata” and cancel his visit.
