SXSW was awesome. Nowhere else in the entire field of geek can you plug in so easily. There are so many conversations, so many connections. It just feels good to be there. Hummel asked for a transcript of the conference, so here goes…

"I recently downloaded the SXSW 2008 torrent file, which contains nearly 48 continuous hours of music from 763 acts appearing this week at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas (these bands elected to give away MP3s; they represent less than half of the total number of acts). SXSW Interactive 2008 starts next week (March 7-11) and the majority of the geek world that I know will be there. SXSW Interactive runs concurrent with SXSW Film and is followed by SXSW Music. This will be the fourth year I’ve attended the conference. H
