What a great site for practicing writing for the genre, procedural writing. Click on the eHow Tab to see the categories then register to contribute to the site. Could be used as a collaborative project with the class contributing on one topic.

Learning Tools - for Differentiation

Free, fairly easy-to-use online tools for teachers, and in some cases, students. These include Timeline tool, A Multimedia Authoring tool (using video or images), a very cool Vocabulary Game generator, image annotation, and even a Language pronounciation tool! Seeing is believing...check it out!
