Starting a little later tonight, users with the latest version of Firefox 3 will be getting an offer to update to Firefox 3.5. If you’re running Firefox 3.0.13 you will see the offer in the next couple of days, though if you’re eager you can always “Check for Updates” in the “Help” menu.

We’re currently in the middle of stage one: Ben Turner and Chris Jones have borrowed the IPC message-passing and setup code from Chromium. We even have some very simple plugins loading across the process boundary! Most of the team is in Mountain View this week and we’re sprinting to see if we can implement a very basic tab in a separate process today and tomorrow.

Bespin is the new prject of the Mozilla Labs. It is an online code editor. The first 0.1 release includes support for basic editing features, such as syntax highlighting, large file sizes, undo/redo, previewing files in the browser, importing/exporting projects, etc.

Introducing Geode, an experimental add-on to explore geolocation in Firefox 3 ahead of the implementation of geolocation in a future product release. Geode provides an early implementation of the W3C Geolocation specification so that developers can begin experimenting with enabling location-aware experiences using Firefox 3 today, and users can tell us what they think of the experience it provides. It includes a single experimental geolocation service provider so that any computer with WiFi can get accurate positioning data.
